THE STRIKE OF DENGUE FEARS MALAYSIANS

What is dengue ? Dengue is an acute viral infection characterized by fever and a rash. It is one of the most common mosquito-bornediseases. It is a major health concern today, especially during the rainy season. Often, dengue outbreaks are caused by poor sanitation and crowded living conditions.

TREATMENT OF DENGUE FEVER

Dengue fever is usually a self-limited illness. There is in specific antiviral treatment currently available for dengue fever. The World Health Organization (WHO) has provided a number of free publications about dengue.

Supportive care with analgesics, fluid replacement, and bed rest is usually sufficient. Acetaminophen may be used to treat fever and relieve other symptoms. Aspirin, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and management and proactive treatment of homerrhage.

Single-dose methylprednisolone showed no mortality benefit in the treatment of dengue shick syndrome in a prospective, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial. The Novartis Institute for Tropical Diseases (NITD) in Singapore is caryying out research to find inhibitors of dengue viral target proteins to reduce the viral load during active infection.

If you think may have dengue fever, you should use pain relievers with acetaminophen and avoid medicines with aspirin, which could worsen bleeding. You should also rest, drink plenty of fluids, and see your doctor. If you start to feel worse in the first 24 hours after you fever goes down, you should get to the hospital immedialety to be checked for complications.

Lastly, the researches therefore conclude that dengue fever should be considered in the dirrenrential diagnosis of fever and rash in the returning traveler. Dermatologistsshould be aware of the distincvtive exanthema of dengue fever. Recognition of the dengue fever rash permits a rapid and early diagnosis, which is critical as dengue fever can progress to life-threatening dengue hemorrhagic fever or dengue shock syndrome, which is fatal and obviously can cause death to the victim.

THE STRIKE OF DENGUE FEARS MALAYSIANS

What is dengue? Dengue is also known as breakbone fever, is a mosquito borne tropical disease caused by the dengue virus. Symtopms include fever, headache, muscle and joint pains. A characteristic skin rash that is similar to measles feve. The dengue will effect our body like bleeding, low levels of blood platelets and blood plasma leakage or dengue shock syndrome, where is dangerously low blood pressure occurs. Dengue fever is transmitted by the bite of an Aedes mosquito infected when it bites a person with dengue virus in their blood. It cannot be spread directly from one person to another person.

Millions of cases of dengue infection occur worldwide each year. Dengue fever is most common in Southeast Asia and the western Pacific Island, but the disease has been increasing rapidly in Latin America and the Caribbean. Researchers are working on dengue fever vaccines, but the best prevention for now is to reduce mosquito habitat in areas where dengue fever in common.

In order, to understand how dengue fever is transmitted several terms need to be defined. The word " host " means an animal ( including a human ) that can be infected with a particular disease. The word " vector "means an organism that can carry a particular disease-causing agent ( like a virus or bacteria ) without actually developing the disease. The vector can then pass the virus or bacteria on to a new host. Many of the common illness in the United States ( including the common cold many viral and influenza or flu ) are spread because the viruses that cause these illness can be passed directly from person to person. The most common victims are children younger than 10 years of age.

Dengue fever is a disease caused by infection with dengue virus is transmitted by the female Aedes mosquito. How it is spread by the bite of the Aedes mosquito dengue virus infected person to a healthy person.Dengue viruses are latent in the patient's body for 3-14 days before showing signs. Patients may experience a sudden fever, followed by the various signs and symptoms are not specific.

Dengue and dengue hemorrhagic fever is an acute febrile illness, found in the tropics, with a geographical distribution similar to malaria. Caused by one of four closely related virus serotypes of the genus Flavivirus, family Flaviviridae, each serotype is sufficiently different that there is no coverage overlap and epidemics caused by multiple serotypes can occur. Dengue is transmitted to humans by the mosquito Aedes aegypti

Signs and symptoms Dengue fever begins with a sudden fever, with severe headache, pain behind the eye ball, joint pains and muscle pains and itching. Inflammation characteristic of dengue fever is bright red spots, and usually appears at the bottom of the members - in some patients, it spreads almost the entire body. The classic signs of skin is the body's skin turns red interspersed with patches of normal skin color. There may have gastritis with combined abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. Patients may also have inflammation of the liver, inflammation of the brain and also in the case of abnormal inflammation of the heart muscle.

To prevent dengue The main way to prevent dengue is to eliminate or reduce mosquito vector for dengue. Measures to eliminate water retention (such as in flowerpots) have proven effective in controlling mosquito-borne diseases.
Larvae medication is also effective to remove the larvae, while the use of bed nets and spraying (fogging) can also help eliminate the adult aedes easily
