STUDENTS AND PART-TIME JOB

Part-time job is an essential asset that students are expected to think in high school. Teens tend to get frustrated from school work, the lack of time management due to the excessive amount of homework in school, being stressed about failure and balancing work between school and extra-curricular activities. So apart from these negative reasons, Part-time jobs are a key to becoming more responsible and should be encouraged for every student.
First, students learn to be more responsible and independent from having a Part-time job. Students would be more confident and learn moral principles as helping others, respecting others and the value of patience. Students will also be more responsible by learning the worth of a dollar. For instance, after two weeks of hard work when the salary arrives, students can save money or can be independent as they do not have to beg their parents for any more money or the student could support his/her family from the money they earn. This shows that Part-time jobs teach students the value of hard work through the money that they earn.
Another advantage of Part-time jobs is that students will be more Punctual. If some students are really lazy and tend to be late in everything they do, a part-time job is exactly what they need. Part-time jobs help students to more prompt and teach teens to manage time effectively. For Example, students will be able to create a barrier between school work and the Part-time job, which will help students to think effectively, be more resourceful and to save time.

Finally, Part-time jobs also play an important role in College/University Applications. For Example, when a student states his/her experience as a Part-time worker in her application, the university administrative would find the student fascinating and would consider her for the spot. Students trying to keep a balance between different types of work and his/her input in the Part-time job would have a better chance of a seat in university as it proves the student’s ability to multi-task.
Part time job is the answer to stress and excessive amount of work as it provides students to relax and enjoys their limited time. Responsibility, punctuality and future goals are the best qualities getting from a Part time job. So, a cashier at Tim Horton’s or a Science tutor at home are some of the ways where a student will physically and mentally be fit from a Part-time job.

time-management skills and seek employment that helps their educational goals.
"Nowadays college costs are high, and young adults also want the amenities that extra money brings,"For some students, especially those in traditionally underserved populations, taking a job is not a matter of choice, but necessity. They need to work to save for college or even to supplement family income. Counselors should help students who have a real need to work improve
Studies show that students who work are more confident and possess better time-management skills than students who are not employed. In addition to offering a paycheck, some independence and satisfaction, a part-time job can provide both training and experience. Working teaches students about responsibility and can also reinforce what they are learning in school.
Admission representatives want to find candidates who demonstrate maturity, responsibility, independence and initiative students and good workers certainly demonstrate those important character traits.Employers can write excellent recommendation letters for the students who have worked for them.'
On the other hand, experts agree that students who work more than 15 to 20 hours per week often experience decreased school success, which can lead to dropping out entirely. Working long hours can also limit opportunities to build friendships and explore interests that enhance intellectual and emotional development.
Drawing out your students' interests and goals is an important part of helping them understand the responsibility of having a job during high school. Your students may find it helpful to ask themselves.
The major point that students should keep in mind is the importance of balance. Dan Crabtree, college and career counselor at Wheaton Academy in Illinois, explains, "We want our students to establish . . . a healthy balance in life . . . and work to maintain it throughout their lives."
If working will interfere with completing schoolwork, participating in extracurricular activities, spending time with family and friends or getting enough rest, it may not be a wise decision.

STUDENT AND PART TIME JOB

In college, time is scarce, and because of that, very precious. At the same time, though, expenses in college pile up surprisingly quickly. A part time job is a good way to off-set costs while ensuring there’s enough time left over for academics and extracurricular. A part-time job can help you become a better student and get a jump on your career track.
Benefits of having a part time job:
  • stable cash flow
-Although obvious, this remains one of the greatest perks of working part-time while in school. Having a steady income allows you to pay off debts quicker, leaving you with less financial stress after graduation.  Students don’t realize how much little things cost while at school like groceries.
  • develop useful skill
-Even though you may not think the skills you’re developing at a part-time job will be useful to your career, they can be! Part-time jobs teach skills every employer is looking for:
  1. commitment
  2. time management
  3. teamwork
  4. leadership
  5. organization
  6. customer service.

  • gives you break
-During school, it’s easy to feel as though you’re in a bubble filled with classes, studying, projects, friends and late nights. It’s not a bad bubble to be in, but sometimes we all need a bit of a break from student life. Having a part-time job allows you to get out of the library or house and away from your roommates, giving you a much-needed break from the stresses of being a student.
  • improves grades
When your only commitment is your studies, you may think you have all the time in the world to finish school work. This may result in a less effective work ethic. Having a job forces you to manage your time and organize your tasks in a productive and effective manner. The amount of hours a student can handle varies, but for the most part, when employers hire on students they are aware that the priority is education and will work with you.
  • networking opportunities
Working a part-time job allows you to develop connections. You may get a great friend, reference, connection or even full-time job after school from committing to a sustainable number of hours each week.
  • employee benefits
Depending on where your part-time job is, you may be eligible for benefits! Even if they’re not full health benefits, you may be eligible for staff discounts or perks. Other benefits would include discounted tickets, food, merchandise and etc.

                                                  STUDENT AND PART TIME JOB

There is no wrong in having a part time job while being a student. I honestly, think that it is an awesome, great idea for students to have a part time jobs before they graduate from high school. If they have the time and resources to do so. Students who are responsible or learn resposibility, have nothing to loose but all to gain by having a job. There are a few key points that prove students having a part time jobs is an awesome concept which I am going to point out. A student that can maintain a part time job gain excellent first hand experience that cannot be gained from the classroom.

Today, if you are looking in the help wanted section of the newspaper you will notice that even for jobs aimed that students it is usually stated that experience is required or is an asset. In today's job force, employers do not always have time or the resources to train employees in great depth. Experienced students applying for a job are more likely to be hired than someone who is not as experienced. This is because students with experience on their resume show that they have already proven that can handle a job while balancing school and other activities.

Students can gain a lot of experience by volunteering, although employers are usually looking for a real job experience. We can see several students who work while studying at school. There are several reasons for doing so. Many are forced to find a job either to fund their educational or to help their families. In addition, a part time time job maybe give students some advantages. So decide with yourself to taking a part time job while studying!
